Case study: Gladstone Alumina Plant

Resources Central Queensland

A proposed $300 million high purity alumina (HPA) plant has been approved for development in Gladstone.

Alpha HPA proposes to produce and export 10,000 tonnes of HPA and other ultra-high purity aluminium products every year using their unique, hyper-efficient licensed Smart SX and refining technology.

The high purity aluminium products will be used around the world as part of new-economy manufacturing. This includes providing the raw materials used by low-carbon growth industries including LED lighting and lithium-ion batteries for energy storage and electric vehicles.
