Case study: The Electoral Commission of Queensland
The Electoral Commission of Queensland (ECQ) has joined Business Chamber Queensland’s ecoBiz program to gain a better understanding of its waste management practice.
Following a free consultation with an ecoBiz coach, a report was produced detailing practical, low-cost recommendations. ECQ has since examined its carbon footprint, as well as the impacts of sustainable practices on its supply chain.
By developing an action plan in partnership with an ecoBiz sustainability expert, ECQ should see a decrease in waste and energy expenditure across its head office, warehouse operations and electoral service provision. Ecobiz will re-evaluate ECQ’s progress after 12 months, optimistic about the overall improvement in ECQ’s social and environmental responsibility.
