Ocean Rafting directly aligns its operations to its values, in particular environmental protection, education, and sustainability as proud environmental guardians. The business has an enviable array of environmental recognition and accreditation.
Ocean Rafting has been engaged with the ecoBiz program since June 2020 and within a year they were recognised as a Star Partner on qualitative grounds.
Key initiatives to reduce energy use
- Installed rooftop solar PV systems at the warehouse and off-site office space.
- Installed energy saving and efficient light bulbs to all fixtures in the office and warehouse.
- Engaged with the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (GBRMPA) to determine the most efficient outboards and operational requirements to limit fuel consumption.
- Set fuel consumption targets to ensure each trip is as efficient as possible.
