Satellite Surveying and Mapping Application Centre
The Satellite Surveying and Mapping Application Centre (SASMAC), is part of the National Administration of Surveying, Mapping and Geo-information of China (NASG) – Beijing.
Under this 2013 agreement, remote sensing scientists from the Queensland Department of Environment and Science and SASMAC work together to utilise high resolution imagery from the Chinese ZY-3 satellite in agricultural and natural resource monitoring.
From June 2015, Dr Shihu Zhao from SASMAC undertook a 12 week visit with DSITI’s Remote Sensing Centre team. Dr Zhao brought with him ZY-3 imagery of targeted areas and worked with DSITI scientists to test their applications.
