2017–2018 Artist in Residence Science residency

The 2017–2018 Artist in Residence Science program is a 6.5 month voluntary residency based at these locations:

This residency will culminate in the presentation of completed artworks or performances at the 2018 Art meets Science Exhibition at the Ecosciences Precinct. The residency is voluntary however the successful artists will receive limited reimbursement to help meet material and other associated costs.

The 2017–2018 guidelines and additional information provide an overview of the residency, for which applications closed in November 2017. The successful AIRS 2017-2018 applicants were matched, and will interact and collaborate with interested scientists from our Science Division, who work primarily in the areas of:

  • water and hydrology (freshwater, coastal and marine)
  • plants, fungi and ecosystems
  • soils and landscapes
  • air quality
  • satellite and aerial imagery
  • analytical chemistry.
