The department is seeking comments from the public and interested groups about the proposed renaming of Magnetic Island National Park to Yunbenun National Park.

The Department of Environment, Science and Innovation (the department) is proposing to rename Magnetic Island National Park to Yunbenun National Park.

Yunbenun is the preferred name of the Wulgurukaba Traditional Owners of Magnetic Island National Park. It is important to note that this proposal relates to the National Park, not the name of the island itself.

The department is seeking comments from the public and interested groups about the proposed renaming. Comments on the proposed name change should be returned to:
