Amendments to Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service managed areas that commenced 22 October 2021 including Toolara State Forest, Bribie Island National Park, Byfield National Park, Curtain Fig National Park, Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park, Lockyer National Park, Mount Walsh National Park, Tamborine National Park, Earl Hill Conservation Park and Smithfield Conservation Park.

Subordinate Legislation giving effect to the amendments—Subordinate Legislation 2021 No.158

Amendments to the QPWS Estate under the Forestry (State Forests) Regulation 1987 and Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 are administered by the Department of Environment and Science.

Toolara State Forest

Gympie Regional and Noosa Shire

Redescribe the entirety of the State forest as:

  • lot 1004 on AP23646, containing an area of about 41,608.834 hectares, using contemporary survey and mapping technology and standards.

The new total area of the State forest will be about 41,608.834 hectares.

Bribie Island National Park

Moreton Bay Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 171 on SP320700, containing an area of about 0.166 hectares, as part of the existing Bribie Island National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 8,605.366 hectares.

Byfield National Park

Livingstone Shire

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 7 on AP15876, lot 8 on plan PS103 and lots 9 to 14 on plan PS104, containing an area of about 199.8161 hectares, as part of the existing Byfield National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 15,057.8161 hectares.

Curtain Fig National Park

Tablelands Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lots 1 to 4 on SP280086, containing an area of about 8.5074 hectares, as part of the existing Curtain Fig National Park.

Correct an erroneous area description of the national park of 0.3678 hectares.

The new total area of the national park will be about 203.5074 hectares.

Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park

Brisbane City

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 1 on SP277808, lot 3 on SP304084 and lot 117 on SP302008, containing an area of about 78.3176 hectares, as part of the existing Gheebulum Kunungai (Moreton Island) National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 17,048.1472 hectares.

Lockyer National Park

Lockyer Valley Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 13 on plan CSH156 and lot 63 on plan CSH416, containing an area of about 197.3677 hectares, as part of the existing Lockyer National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 11,260.0527 hectares.

Mount Walsh National Park

Livingstone Shire

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lots 47, 187 and 188 on plan LX591 and lot 190 on plan LX598, containing an area of about 1,036.9715 hectares, as part of the existing Mount Walsh National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 12,764.1567 hectares.

Tamborine National Park

Scenic Rim Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 1 on plan WD2745, containing an area of about 2.502 hectares, as part of the existing Tamborine National Park.

The new total area of the national park will be about 2,094.4712 hectares.

Earl Hill Conservation Park

Cairns Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 165 on SP319555 containing an area of about 1.82 hectares, as part of the existing Earl Hill Conservation Park.

The new total area of the conservation park will be about 55.6475 hectares.

Smithfield Conservation Park

Cairns Regional

Dedicate an area of unallocated State land described as:

  • lot 998 on SP201274 containing an area of about 0.3175 hectares, as part of the existing Smithfield Conservation Park.

Correct an erroneous area description of the conservation park of 0.2981 hectares.

The new total area of the conservation park will be about 278.9625 hectares.
