The Department of Environment and Science gives notice of the proposed dedication of Pelion Forest Reserve as part of Eungella National Park and Tumoulin Forest Reserve as the new Tumoulin National Park.

The Department of Environment and Science gives notice of the proposed dedications:

  • Pelion Forest Reserve as part of Eungella National Park.
    Pelion Forest Reserve is described as lot 1 on AP19320, containing an area of about 2,160 hectares, about 54km west of Mackay within the localities of Eungella Hinterland and Finch Hatton
  • Tumoulin Forest Reserve as the new Tumoulin National Park.
    Tumoulin Forest Reserve is described as lot 1 on AP19292, containing an area of about 1,877 hectares, about 77km south-west of Cairns, within the localities of Evelyn, Ravenshoe and Tumoulin.

Comment regarding the proposed protected areas must be in writing and directed to tenureservices@des.qld.gov.au or the Department of Environment and Science, Tenure Services, PO Box 15187, City East QLD 4002.

Comments received by 26 November 2021 will be considered by the chief executive, Jamie Merrick, Director-General.

Amendments to the QPWS Estate Nature Conservation (Forest Reserves) Regulation 2000 are administered by the Department of Environment and Science.
