Consultation on proposed amendments to the protected areas estate

The Department is proposing changes to the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 through an Indigenous Land Use Agreement, as follows:

Dedicate Denham Group National Park described as lots 1 to 7 on SP269702 and unallocated State land described as lot 7 on SP241439 and lot 14 on SP241441, a total of 69.8967 hectares, as Yamarrinh Wachangan Islands (Denham Group) National Park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land).

Jardine River National Park

Cook

Redescribe Jardine River National Park as lot 1 on SP161893 and lots 1 to 4 on SP189913 containing an area of 117.5606 hectares.

Dedicate the majority of Jardine River National Park, described as lot 2 on SP161893 and lot 26 on SP189913 containing an area of 234,355.6 hectares, as Apudthama National Park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land).

Dedicate unallocated State land, described as lot 1 on SP320131, lots 3, 5, 6 and 9 to 13 on SP269684 containing and area of 84,875.4086 hectares, as Apudthama National Park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal Land).

Amendments to the protected area estate and national park (Cape York Peninsula Aboriginal land) areas under the Nature Conservation (Protected Areas) Regulation 1994 are administered by the Department of Environment and Science.
