Deceased wongari (dingo) investigation

The Queensland Parks & Wildlife Service (QPWS) together with the Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation is seeking public assistance after an incident on K’gari (Fraser Island) resulted in a wongari (dingo) being killed on Friday night.
QPWS rangers received multiple eyewitness accounts of a Landcruiser driving erratically along the beach front before allegedly deliberately hitting and killing a dingo on Orchid Beach.
The Queensland Police Service is assisting with the investigation.
The maximum penalty for deliberately killing a dingo is $10,676. Anyone with information is urged to contact QPWS on 4127 9150 or 1300 130 372.
