The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service (QPWS) has closed Boodjamulla National Park following the impacts of widespread heavy rainfall and severe flooding.

The national park has experienced unprecedented water levels during the past week, and park access and infrastructure has been heavily impacted by the flood waters.

The safety of our staff and visitors to our protected areas is our number priority, and Boodjamulla National Park will be closed until 28 April 2023.

When flood waters subside, QPWS rangers will assess park infrastructure, including roads.

Considerable repairs to visitor and management infrastructure may be required, so it could be some time before the park is safe to reopen to visitors.

People planning to visit Boodjamulla National Park are advised to monitor park alerts for updates on when the park will reopen.
