Bushfire in the Mooloolah River National Park

A bushfire is currently burning in the Mooloolah River National Park near Sippy Downs on the Sunshine Coast.

The bushfire is not threatening homes or properties at this stage.

Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service are in attendance.

The bushfire is burning between the Sunshine Coast Motorway and Claymore Road and is being contained within the national park.

Smoke from the fire may be seen in the Buderim and Sippy downs areas.

Motorists should take care and drive to the conditions when travelling on affected parts of the Sunshine Coast Motorway and on Claymore Road.

Temporary road closures may be implemented in the area.

Anyone in the area with health issues that may be exacerbated by smoke should take appropriate precautions.

At present the cause of the bushfire is unknown.
