Moreton Island Protection Committee

Help visitors enjoy magnificent Mulgumpin (Moreton Island) and contribute to important conservation and regeneration projects.

Where?
When?
  • Year round
  • Monthly through autumn and spring, Friday to Sunday.

For?
  • Volunteer with partner organisation or other government department
  • Volunteers BYO food and are accommodated in a semi-permanent camp at Blue Lagoon.

This project involves:

  • Public contact, customer service, education or interpretation
  • Research and monitoring
  • Rubbish clean-up
  • Weeding and/or revegetation (including plant propagation)

Training will be provided.

A low to moderate level of fitness is required.

The Committee arranges discounted Ferry, Island transport and camping accommodation at discounted rates for volunteers. Volunteers and The Committee pay for transport costs.
