Case study: Townsville Community Learning Centre – A State Special School

Built environment Energy North Queensland

Townsville Community Learning Centre – A State Special School participated in the Department of Education’s Advancing Clean Energy Schools (ACES) program. The ACES program is reducing energy costs by installing solar and/or energy efficiency measures at more than 800 state schools over three years.

The $168.1 million ACES program will deliver a contribution of approximately 61.4 megawatts of solar to the Queensland Government’s 50% renewable energy sources goal by 2030. This will help to reduce emissions, address climate change, create new jobs and diversify the economy.
