Case study: Managing coastal hazards on the Gold Coast
The Gold Coast Waterways Authority and the City of Gold Coast are collaborating on a project to manage coastal hazards, including rising sea levels and extreme weather events, to protect vital infrastructure including the Gold Coast Seaway, the Sand Bypass system and Wave Break Island.
The project will build on work being undertaken under the City of Gold Coast’s Coastal Hazard Adaptation Strategy, which was developed with the support of the Queensland Government through the QCoast2100 Program.
