The Queensland Government is contributing to cutting Queensland’s emissions by 30% by 2030 is through its investment in smarter, less-energy, intensive street lights.

The Queensland Government has invested $7 million to switch more than 35,000 lights on Queensland state roads to Smart LED Road Lighting.

This will cut energy use by up to 40%.

More than two megawatts of power savings can be made, resulting in a reduction of at least 5640 tonnes of greenhouse gas annually.
